Moments Spent
We spend our moments
heedlessly,
With lovers, and
loved ones, and friends.
So little regard for
their value,
Until the moments
end.
Remember that each
moment spent,
Will never again
appear.
If only we knew the
true value,
Then would we hold
them more dear.
How differently we
would spend them,
Knowing that these
were our last,
Hand to cheek,
Face to face,
Eyes would meet,
Arms embrace,
With urgent, fervent
need.
Remember how fleeting
is time, and life,
Before they both are
past.
Love them today, now
and forever,
As if this day is the
last.
For the next chance
gathering,
In a day, or a month,
or a year,
May reveal an empty
place,
Instead of a loved
one near.
Take time, and spend
it well,
For cherished
memories made.
Take note, each moment
rare,
Before these moments
fade.
Treasure the fair
golden moments,
Treasure the gift of
love sublime,
Before loved ones
live only in memories,
Of days of auld lang
sine.

Auld Lang Syne
Should old
acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought
to mind?
Should auld
acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang
syne?
For auld lang
syne, my dear,
For auld lang
syne,
We’ll take a cup o
kindness yet,
For auld lang
syne!
And there’s a hand
my trusty friend,
And give us a hand
of thine,
We’ll take a cup
of cheer to toast,
For auld lang
syne.
For auld lang
syne, my dear,
For auld lang
syne,
We’ll take a cup o
kindness yet,
For auld lang
syne!
We two have run
about the hills,
And pulled the daisies
fine,
But we’ve wandered
many a weary foot,
Since auld lang
syne.
For auld lang
syne, my dear,
For auld lang
syne,
We’ll take a cup o
kindness yet,
For auld lang
syne!
We two have
paddled in the stream,
From morning, noon
till night,
But the seas
between us broad have roared,
Since auld lang
syne.
For auld lang
syne, my dear,
For auld lang
syne,
We’ll take a cup o
kindness yet,
For auld lang
syne!
